When I was younger, I sang in the children’s choir. I remember all of us being positioned in front of the church. After the music, began to play and a motion from the director to sing, we would yell out the words to “Jesus Loves Me”.
As a child in the choir, I didn’t really understand the meaning of the words I sang. They hadn’t resonated with me then as they have now. This simple song undeniably expresses the importance of knowing we are loved by Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.
Jesus loves me this I know. This is a statement of fact. It is truth. Jesus loves us.
For the bible tells me so. The bible is God’s word. It tells us about God’s love and the power his love brings to our lives.
Little ones to Him belong. We are all children of God. We belong to the Father who loves us simply because we are his own.
They are weak, but He is strong. We are weak compared to Jesus. His love protects and delivers us.
Yes, Jesus loves me. This is a declaration of confidence. Jesus loved us so much that he died so we can live.
For the bible tells me so. If we should ever doubt his love for us, we can always go back to scripture to be reassured.
I have grown up. I no longer sing in the children’s choir. I have children of my own now. They know that Jesus loves them. I challenge you to share this song with the children in your life. Let them know that you love them, and Jesus does too.
